Prada Remakes Aviators with Classic Appeal

Nicole Kidman has put a new spin on the 2008 rebel aviator fad with Prada classic Aviator style sunglasses. The Aviator style, originally a Ray Ban creation, has undergone several adaptations in the largest design houses across the globe. Prada’s variation enhances the metal on the ear piece – and large temple bars have been in style in recent years. Prada has done away with the gold frames, replacing with gun metal black, a very sleek and professional upgrade. Prada’s all black lenses are in contrast to Ray Bans brown tinted gradient lenses, which are in style in American youth. Prada’s more professional look is being adopted by such well known names as Nicole Kidman, a very put-together, upper class woman of style and charm.
Nicole Kidman, born and raised in the U.S.A by Australian parents, is the star of the recent film Australia. Her fashion tends to be more classic in style, and she makes her fashion statements with name brand, innovative accessories like glitzy jewelry or recently releases designer eyewear.
Aviators, made famous by General Dwight Eisenhower, were originally commissioned by a pilot looking for lightweight frames with dark lenses capable of handling the bright glare pilots often encounter. In recent years, Ray Ban aviators have come into fashion with skaters, rebels, and the fashion floppy. The Prada adaption recognizes the success of the aviator style while making it accessible to the rich and glamorous.
Prada has long been a status symbol among the wealthy. The accessories and eyewear division has boomed in recent years under the supervision of head designer Miuccia Prada.
