Miu Miu design sunglasses have been growing in popularity over the past several months, a fashion trend we have been keeping an excited eye upon. With larger-than-life fashion back in style this season (as evidenced by the displays this year at the Mercedes Benz show and New York Fashion Week) we’re in full favor of Miu Miu shades as the epitome of the 2010 style bonanza.

Miu Miu, the hip and affordable designer brand by Miuccia Prada targets youth with fashion designs that appeal to a younger and more energetic crowd that the traditional Prada image, which is a luxury look for professionals and celebrity elites. Miu Miu, which only recently got its feet firmly on the ground, has launched a clothing line to compliment its already wildly successful accessories line. With a hip, urban audience already absorbing Miu Miu, Prada’s newest concept is well on its way to becoming a standard in the fashion industry.

Dolce and Gabanna launched D&G several years ago in a similar campaign aimed and targeting a more youthful and hip urban audience. The success of the more affordably priced D&G goods was unparalleled in the fashion industry, and D&G started a new trend, one that Armani picked up on by spliting their designs into youthful and affordable Emporio Armani and professional and elite Giorgio Armani. This trend, which some would find overly obvious and condescending, has been successful when the name brand is not altered too drastically. We wonder why Prada chose to name its youth brand MiuMiu and not Prada Lite or something similar.
