Hottest celeb sunglasses
Filed Under Brands Wave, Celebrity Watch, Designer Sunglasses | View Comments
Sunglasses are one of the few accessories that celebs don’t leave the house without. Well, that and an adopted African baby. Madonna very uncouthly showed up in Africa in Versace and Prada talking about equalizing wealth and other Kabalah principles of unity and oneness (although, to be fair, those are good principles). Perhaps a better charity would have been to pass out Prada sunnies to all of the children instead of school books, which will eventually be burned for fire starter because they don’t have teachers to read from them. Face slap time.
Still, some celebs manage to wear sunglasses without making themselves look too ridiculous. Surprisingly, Angelina Jolie wears high end fashion in a low-end way. By which I mean she is still accessible and aware of the general public’s perception of Hollywood stars and tries to play it down with laid-back fashion. She still adopted a black baby though, so while we love her in Ray Bans and Tom Fords we think that adopting all the children of the rainbow is a bit Rodeo Drive.
One of the celebrities out there doing it right is Kanye West. He’s been a top fashion star among men in Hollywood, and has been a huge fan of sunglasses. He has a nicely shaped face and skull so it isn’t like he is trying to hide an odd gourd. Kanye is paring with Jay Z have collaborated on a track (out soon!) so now you’ll get the chance to see and hear awesome tunes from two of Hollywood’s hottest rappers.

Cleaning Sunglasses
Filed Under Designer Eyeglasses, Designer Sunglasses, Eyewear Knowledge | View Comments
Cleaning your designer eyeglasses and sunglasses, big brands like Fendi, Ralph Lauren and Dior, you’ll want to know the best methods so you don’t injure your expensive, brand-name shades. Especially with designer stuff you need to be careful with how you clean. The products are made well, and are durable and will stand normal wear and tear, but most people don’t realize that the standard method of cleaning actually damages your glasses.
First, soak your glasses in water overnight, even if they are metal they should not rust if they are actual real designer shades. In the morning, the grime and oil should have broken down. Now you can gently wash the lenses with soapy water, making sure not to rub in any grit (scratching the lenses). When you are done, rinse them under powerful streams of water to knock off any residue before you wipe them clean. Never wipe them without washing first, or you’ll just move stuff around on the lens and cause scratches.
If you find your glasses soiled during the day, head to the bathroom and wash them in the sink with hot water and soap before wiping them down. If you don’t have access to water then do your best with the cloth, but keep in mind that you may scratch them if you see even the smallest particle on the lenses.
You should also get your eyes tested yearly, and if you are young at least twice a year as your eyes may still be growing. This means you may be replacing your glasses every year, but its always better safe then sorry when it comes to your health, and especially your sight.

Teen Fashion Fabulous
Filed Under Blogroll, Brands Wave, Designer Sunglasses, Fun with Eyewear | View Comments
What are kids wearing these days? Every time I look at a high school kid I’m shocked to see even more skin than the year before. Even the designer Ralph Lauren polo shirts kids wear as part of their school uniforms have somehow become more revealing. Aside from the skin, new teen fashion seems to have gone pippie-longstockings on us. I continually see kids in knee-length socks of wild varieties from rainbow bars and stripes to an odd fascination with cartoon skulls—a contradiction that probably makes the Hells Angels scratch their beer-stained beards with confusion.
And when did it become popular to wear converse sneakers with dresses? When one or two people who are punk, alternative and cool do it then it remains interesting but when everyone and their mother (literally, I see soccer mom’s desperate for approval wearing Converse now) does it it becomes a sad and pathetic fad that we hope will die out quickly.
Along the same lines, MiuMiu sunglasses have swept teen fashion by storm, and that’s okay with us because Prada’s brainchild for youth is actually youth appropriate. The shades are a bit more fun and down-to-earth than normal Prada wear and they offer kids a mini starter-kit for high class fashion. The brand has gained notoriety as people start wearing them in Hollywood, but still it has stayed a youth fashion and that is appropriate because an older woman would look ridiculous and pathetic in MiuMiu sunglasses.
One final fashion tip- young men shouldn’t wear Police sunglasses or Serengeti sunglasses unless they have facial hair to shave. If you are too young to shave you can’t handle the fashion and masculinity of either of these weighty brands.

How do you get passionate a bout a drab wardrobe? You spice it up, that’s how. First, find that one special item in the closet that you absolutely love. The piece that defines you. For some, it will be their Jimmy Choo shoes, or their Prada sunglasses, or maybe an Alexander McQueen skirt. For me, it’s my Nike eyeglasses- clean-lined, crisp and neat. If you find an item you love and start to base your wardrobe only around this one piece you’ll find you get a wardrobe you are happy about ad one that you are passionate for. You won’t wake up in the morning worried about what to wear because every item in the closet it one you love. Wouldn’t that be nice?
It is possible. First you need to throw out all the clothes you never wear. Open the closet and look at every piece and unless it is an extremely dressy item then if you haven’t worn it in the past 6 months throw it away. Step one to getting passionate about fashion it so purge the drawers of everything you dislike. No ugly items in this awesome wardrobe! Toss out socks with no mate—you’ll never find them! Toss out undies that don’t make you feel sexy. Toss out shirts you never wear (yes, that means the company retreat 1997 T-shirt you keep because you finally kissed your workspace crush.
After you clean out the closets and have the item you love, start thinking about what makes that piece special for you. Is it the texture? The shape? The colors? Then find other items that you can wear with that piece.
