For the sportswoman who lives for her sport of choice, eyewear is as important as training. Quality products that enhance performance are essential to the female athlete who is ever-busy trying to trim the edge away from her male rival.
Oakley, once known for its cycling shades, goggles and innovative, performance-enhancing designs, has branched out to create a women’s model for their major designs. Oakley, coming from the mouth of an athlete, is the best possible option in the eyewear realm. For cycling, skiing and general outdoors activities women will find these shades more than meet their needs.
Ray Bans, on the other hand, offer a different appeal. For surfers and athletes on the coast, Ray ans offer fashion as well as protection. Many a talented female surfer, swimmer or jogger wear Ray Bans, which fit well, are light weight, and yet remain fashionable and athletic.
Arnette eyewear, for the female athlete, is the top-of-the-line in sporting fashion that really inches more towards the standard than the exception. For serious, professional female athletes there is nothing better than Arnette, which was a popular favorite of female athletes internationally at the 2008 Olympics.
Whether you go Oakley, Ray Ban, Arnette or another designer brand for your sporting needs, keep in mind the cool factor you can achieve with these recommended brands, as well as the army of female athletes who have gone before you wearing Arnette, Ray Ban and Oakley sunglasses to enhance their performance on and off the field of sport.

Have you been considering a switch from your daily glasses to contacts? Everyone has their own reasons, but here are a compellation of reasons most people report when changing from glasses to contacts.
• Appearance. Many people feel that glasses are unsightly. While they can be unappealing, there are great guides to helping you choose the glasses that best fit your face. However, if you are set on contacts instead of glasses, than they can definitely up your appearance by not obstructing the view of your eyes.
• Comfort. Many people report feeling that glasses weigh too much, hurt their ears and nose, or simply rub against their face in an uncomfortable manner. Contacts may be uncomfortable at first in much the same way that glasses become uncomfortable over time. Keep with contacts, however, and the discomfort subsides and they feel like there is nothing in your eye but better vision.
• Creativity. Believe it or not, many people switch from glasses to contacts for the color and shape options. Creative people, singers, showmen, athletes, and partiers all look to contacts to make them look more edgy and compelling. Purple eyes, cat eyes and even spider-web eyes create the option of turning your face into a canvas for creativity and beauty.
• Movement. Many people who wear glasses grumble about the inconvenience of frames when living a lively, energetic life. Your glasses get bumped, scraped, jostled and generally abused on a daily basis. For the accident prone or fully active contacts are a much better option than glasses because the cost of glasses over time will be higher, considering replacement expenses.

Miu Miu Sunglasses, by Prada
Filed Under Brands Wave, Designer Sunglasses | View Comments
Miu Miu design sunglasses have been growing in popularity over the past several months, a fashion trend we have been keeping an excited eye upon. With larger-than-life fashion back in style this season (as evidenced by the displays this year at the Mercedes Benz show and New York Fashion Week) we’re in full favor of Miu Miu shades as the epitome of the 2010 style bonanza.
Miu Miu, the hip and affordable designer brand by Miuccia Prada targets youth with fashion designs that appeal to a younger and more energetic crowd that the traditional Prada image, which is a luxury look for professionals and celebrity elites. Miu Miu, which only recently got its feet firmly on the ground, has launched a clothing line to compliment its already wildly successful accessories line. With a hip, urban audience already absorbing Miu Miu, Prada’s newest concept is well on its way to becoming a standard in the fashion industry.
Dolce and Gabanna launched D&G several years ago in a similar campaign aimed and targeting a more youthful and hip urban audience. The success of the more affordably priced D&G goods was unparalleled in the fashion industry, and D&G started a new trend, one that Armani picked up on by spliting their designs into youthful and affordable Emporio Armani and professional and elite Giorgio Armani. This trend, which some would find overly obvious and condescending, has been successful when the name brand is not altered too drastically. We wonder why Prada chose to name its youth brand MiuMiu and not Prada Lite or something similar.

Eyewear for the Office
Filed Under Designer Eyeglasses, Eyewear Knowledge | View Comments
Nobody wants to be the odd man out, this season in the office be one of the “cool kids” by cashing in on our fashion advice for the coming season before it becomes “cliché.” There are several different avenues to take when it comes to office eyewear fashion in the coming season. Here are a few personas you could aim for when choosing your glasses.
The can’t wait for the weekend guy. If you are aiming to be this guy then definitely check out Oakley indoor eyewear, which is surprisingly chic and fashionable, but with a subtle hint of impatience for freedom. Especially fitting would be tinted lenses in either yellow or blue, which will help whisk you away to the weekend vibe even sooner.
The cooler-than-you guy. If you are aiming to be this guy, the definitely go designer with Prada frames with thick temple bars and a very obvious logo. Danny Gorkey really cashed in on this look during the last season of American Idol, albeit this might be why he was voted off with three folks to go.
Practical office guy. If this is your idol, then aim for very Clark Kent-like eyewear that will leave you looking subtly handsome, reserved and focused. Like the cool guy, the practical guy could benefit from black frames, but perhaps with lesser temple bars and less prominent logo markings. Check out Ralph Lauren designs for men, or even Nike indoor eyewear, which is surprisingly snappy.
Whatever your ideal persona, follow a few key tips and you’ll be rocking your vibe in now time.

Emporio Armani Sunglasses

Bono, the humanitarian singer gone fashion icon, has warmed our hearts with songs from U2 and inspired us to ‘think red’ when it comes to sunglasses. Every the icon, Bono has made a name for himself as the charitable hero behind a red tinted shield. That red shield is an Emporio Armani 9592 model of indoor-outdoor sunglasses designed to look cool as well as increase visual contrast. They are, perhaps, the only sunglasses you can wear indoors without looking ridiculously stupid. He has a similar pair of red-tinted Emporio Armanis, the 9285 design, which is a wrap around with gold temple bars.
Ben Affleck, whom many think of as a nitwit, proves he is somewhat fashion savvy with his donning of Emproio Armani. He also modeled for the prestigious line at one point, and has been seen in Emporio Armani 9047s, which are a wrap-around Ray Ban-like design that would be perfect for teenagers as a starter pair of fashion sunglasses.
Viggo Mortensen, who rocked our world in Lord of the Rings, hit the silver screen again to shock us all in Eastern Promises, where he debuted in EmporioArmani 9070s. These made him look like a Russian mafia kingpin, which was the point I guess, but I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone over 30 for this very reason.
While we think Emporio Armani shades really rock for men, they just look silly on women. Lauren Conrad proves that yet again for us when she wore the oversized (and very masculine) 9426/S shades that make her look like a very unattractive fly.
