Masculine Sunglasses: Police
Filed Under Brands Wave, Celebrity Watch, Designer Sunglasses | 1 Comment
For the man’s man, sunglasses represent more than a way to look cool, they represent rebellion, an adherence to one’s own ways and, many times, ownership of a bike. Ray Bans have long been the staple eyewear of the man’s man, but as the times change, so to do the manly trends. Today’s ultimate macho male needs to take his appearance a bit more into consideration. Ray Bans may be awesome, but they have been taken up by the mainstream, which make them less rebellious and more fashionable. A real masculine man would look for something to define himself with, a look that says everything he wants to say- like the Terminator when he slips on a pair of black shades that say “watch out, world!”
For today’s macho male there is only one brand that will do: Police. Police sunglasses are the new badass must-have accessory. Yesterday it was leather and a Harley, today it is Police sunglasses. With the likes of Antonio Banderas, George Clooney, David Beckham, Brad Pitt and more as spokesmen for the brand, it is unlikely to dissipate. Meanwhile, every bad guy on TV and in cinema these days is wearing Police sunglasses, a sure sign of lasting manliness and suave.
If you are looking to send the message with your appearance that you should not be messed with, then Police sunglasses are the only accessory you will need. Denim and a no-name T shirt coupled with construction boots and Police sunglasses leave you looking charming to the ladies and terrifying to the competition.

Celebrity Eyewear Exclusive – The Many Shades of Anna Kournikova
Filed Under Brands Wave, Celebrity Watch, Designer Sunglasses | Leave a Comment
From Ray Ban to Ralph Lauren and Prada, tennis star Anna Kournikova rocks them all with the same fierceness and grace she applies to her A-game. Once a blushing, austere beauty, Anna has since posed for Maximum magazine, as well as many others, as an athletic, powerful and sexual woman who knows fashion as well as she knows her sport.
Ray Ban Aviators are stunning on this blonde beauty, whose rounded features and stark blonde hair match the curves and lines of the traditional Ray Ban look. Meanwhile, aviators have long been popular in fringe society as rebel wear, a look Anna has taken to with dark nail polish and bed-head hair.
Ralph Lauren RL7002, the aviator look-alike design shown here, are also appealing on Miss Kournikova. Cheaper than Ray Ban’s and a bit more sturdy this classy alternative offers equal style points, in our opinion, and look just as charming, if not more so, than the real-deal Ray Ban. Especially unique on the RL7002 design are the thicker, silver temple bars that class up the design.
With a pair of dazzling and sporty Prada PR14GS, Anna Kournikova proves she has a sunglasses collection that rivals the contents of her vast trophy case. These athletic Prada shades are perfect for our favorite athlete because they fit snugly in place while maintaining the cute and name-brand fashion look we have come to expect from our tennis stars.
Proving that she can rock Prada, Ray Ban and Ralph Lauren, as well as others, Anna Kournikova is primed to sweep us off our feet this season with her fashion sense as well as with her racket.

The Best in Lightweight Eyeglasses
Filed Under Brands Wave, Fun with Eyewear, Eyewear Knowledge, Designer Eyeglasses | 1 Comment
Nothing is more annoying than frames that weight too much and distract you with constant pain. Now there are solutions to this nagging problem- lightweight frames or frameless eyeglasses. Hugo Boss offers a surprisingly vast array of men’s and women’s frameless and lightweight eyewear. With thin temple bars and designer façades, Hugo Boss offers the best of both worlds—high fashion design with comfort factored in.
Nike, another surprisingly apt indoor professional eyewear designer, has designs for the workplace that far surpassed expectations. Bold, colorful and sleek, these designs scream personality and charm, allowing you to retain some of your athletic sparkle while in the office. Their frameless and lightweight designs are stark, bright and exude professionalism as well as comfort.
Ralph Lauren may be the most well known name in professional, indoor eyewear for the workplace. With lightweight and frameless designs on hand, Ralph Lauren also has creative and fresh remakes of classic eyewear designs. With eyewear for the office, it is unwise to purchase a fad design, as you’ll quickly burn through your salary trying to stay hip and in the end will be stuck with hundreds of prescription glasses that are out of style. Instead, buy a pair that is tried and true for the workplace and innovate in your after work hours.
Finally, Paul Smith eyewear offers lightweight designs that are simple, clean and elegant– perfect for the professional with a serious function. These sharp designs are so comfortable and calming they are seemingly invisible to the wearer and onlooker alike. Stay in fashion with comfort in Paul Smith’s.

At the end, it is a perfect time to look back at the beginning, and the life of Michael Jackson, seen here in Ray Ban Wayfarers. Born Michael Joseph Jackson in 1958, Michael was to become part of his father’s band, The Jackson 5, at the age of eight. He stole the show from his elder brothers and went solo, at his father’s bequest, some years later. His first big hit was with the song Thriller, though he had massive success prior to this with his ET soundtrack and as the joint producer of Off the Wall. In following years Jackson was to be compared with Elvis and the Beatles and was to meet President Reagan in the Whitehouse to accept an award for his charity donations.
Jackson became self conscious of his image in the mid 80s owing in part to the failed rhinoplasty surgery he had elicited two years prior. He began to wear dark sunglasses, like the Wayfarers seen here, as well as high collar shirts and long sleeves. He rarely allowed any part of his body other than his hands and face to be seen in public. The sunglasses were doubly necessary because Jackson suffered from severe light sensitivity caused by lupus and another obscure skin dieses. His medications, in tandem, caused light irritation as well, causing discomfort if exposed.
In the wake of his immense fame, Jackson began to disseminate the image of Wacko Jacko, as he befriended a monkey named Bubbles and leaked pictures of himself sleeping in a cryogenic chamber, reportedly to boost interest in his upcoming sci-fi film. While throwing the press for a loop, Jackson retained his warmth and sensitivity with his friends and siblings, and was surrounded by loved ones at his untimely death on 25 June, 2009.
